Introduction

Backdrop to several films and recently featured on HGTV’s new series Home Town Takeover, Wetumpka is located in the heart of Alabama’s River Region and is known as the “City of Natural Beauty” for its abundance of rivers, creeks and woodland wildlife. Not only is its historic downtown straddled by the Coosa River and one of only 200 world-recognized impact craters, it also connects to five statewide trail systems, as well as several regional trails. Local riverwalk trails adjoin its brand-new sports complex, and you’ll also enjoy seeing history manifested through local art in its cultivating place project known as the Tulotoma Snail Trail.
